1.
NARRATOR: Here is recanted a tale, Whose words are so sculpted to teach. A tale which begins in a town, In a valley between three mountain peaks. Long hath its people been wicked, Loving only their wealth, Compassion long-since forgotten, Each one caring only for themselves. But this seat of tragedy, Bore a young man whose morality, Clashed with those whose vanity, Made a happy life but a fantasy. And so this man gathered, His belongings from the tavern, And he started to the barrens, Away from these men to find peace. So with one sack and a bowl, He took to the road, And ventured far into forest lands. But soon night came, And too came the rain, Yet he embraced the earth with his hands.

EDRIS: I am born from great evil, My mind has dwelt in sin. I have not mind or heart, As awakened cantors deep within. Mine people are a plague, If their eyes turn, oh, from the truth. But my soul is made of love, Unto the All, this shall I prove! יהוה: Oh, now see that I am the mountain, Tall, with might and face of stone! I rise above these planes which bear your feet upon this hour, Oh, too see that I am the fountain, Springing rivers to my throne! I am the Universe and I see that your soul is dour! EDRIS: So I climb upon its heights, Up the rocky cliff face, and over the other side, Where I see another valley by star-light, Uncorrupted, and teeming with plant life. It is beyond this place I'll find, A city of peace, its virtues high, A place to live and multiply, A place to live, a place to die. And so I quiet my mind, And venture beyond time. NARRATOR: And so did the young man fall asleep, On a mountain face beneath the night. Away from vice he rested deeply, And soon came morning light. Rubbing gently now his eyes, He did begin to weep, For his satchel of food and clothes, Was no longer at his feet. Standing on the mountainside, He shed a single tear, And cried aloud: EDRIS: I'll surely die! NARRATOR: ...to all whose ears would hear. EDRIS: Here am I, alone and without, Yet in my heart, no weight of doubt, That beyond these plains at the base of this rock, Lies the city of shepherds, so I'll join the flock. NARRATOR: And so did the man descend the mount, That by thirty minutes he was upon the ground. Then, walked he, to waters by, Which he drank, and then was filled with life. יהוה: Now your thirst is quenched, I spawn, This potent manna here at dawn, It grows upon the mor ning dew, In birth, great white; in death, blue hues. Take now your fill of this crop, With spongy stalk and cap atop. Lie beside the river bank, And be carried from this land. NARRATOR: Engorged on manna, with vision distorted, The young man slipped and fell into the water. Carried now by the whitewater flow, He saw the sky burst aflame as the earth shook below. EDRIS: I'm rushing down the river and my mind is a hole, I hear the Message above, and the Peacock below, The union of which begets that which may know, And so I sit back, relax, and go with the flow, The waters run faster, as I'm carried along. The sky opens up, and comes an angelic throng, My sights are twisted and the journey is long, And it's scored by angel masses as they play their song. יהוה: Here are my sights, these sights that you see, Which are my Melek'Taus emanated emissary, Which includes all matter and all energy: The domain exclusively of those whose minds are not free. I am and contain that which may be said to be: I am all that is abstract and all physicality. To come to know this truly is the final degree, Thus perceive me: good and evil in their entirety. See your mind bend beyond this causal plane, Let it be known that יהוה is the name, Overcome doubt, and overcome shame, Feel no love and no hate; be not inflamed nor enraged. Feel no joy and no fear and no tears and no pain, For in my name, the Universe is יהוה! NARRATOR: Far downstream, and beholding not sight, The young man witnessed these things with not eyes. His clothes soaked, his stomach nauseous, His body thrown to and fro in the water, He found himself then at a bank in the river, Held there in the cold, beginning to shiver, But still did persist the visions disturbing, And still did he receive the wisdom unnerving. יהוה: Here are you, far from home, far from sin, Here are you, all alone, fear within, Here are you, making overtures of sorrow, Here am I, from which emotions you have borrowed, Here are you, seeking me far without, Here are you, looking for matter, no doubt, Here are you, with my echoes in your shout, Here are you? Here am I! Of which you are a part.

יהוה: All the universe dwells inside, The resonant emanations of My mind. This infinity, oh may we divide, And tear in twain the Earth and skies. There are forces which serve as connections, Between thought and matter, which some call as nexions, Which ever exist but as abstract vectors, Now call them as angels - whole parts; of Me, sectors. NARRATOR: Now did the young man look to the stars, The moonlit night sky torn asunder. A winged creature soared above, As the young man stared in wonder. EDRIS: What is this beast which hovers above? On hundreds and hundreds of wings of the swan, With great mass of eyes, in which are not love. To this Earthly realm it does not belong. NARRATOR: And so the creature opened its wings, Then descended to the pasture, by. On its descent, it did shriek things, Which low-of-nerve would horrify. Then the waters did dry up, And trees were felled, 'til did they lie, And thick molten stone did pour and flow, Upon the beautiful countryside. מֶטָטְרוֹן: All of humanity dwells inside, The boundaries that defines what is Mine. The ability to multiply, To sew the grain, make art, and die. There are forces which serve as connections, Between thought and matter, which some call as nexions, Which ever exist but as abstract vectors, Now call Me an angel - of man, a reflection. מֶטָטְרוֹן: Now I sculpt this stone into towns, As Dagon I sew the seed in the ground, My worship and memory, carried by sound, But in each human being am I always found. יהוה: Now I sculpt the flesh like clay, Breathe unto it the sacred flame, Prometheus I am in name, And morality unto mankind I gave. NARRATOR: Now the wings of מֶטָטְרוֹן did spread wide apart, And the young man did behold the secrets of his heart, Whereupon the stone did become metal all at once, And was seen the metalsmith, Vulcan. יהוה: See, oh, now with your own sight, This soulless town soon spring to life, When centred o'er mighty forge. יהוה merges with its lore.

EDRIS: Here am I before mankind, And before this great city, towering unto the sky. I see the forces which give it life, Symbolized as angels, which descend on from high. The tetrad supreme, Of the angels I see, Kneel so clearly before me, With no haze of a dream. The greatest of these, Now ascends from its knees, And indulges me, With the clearest of speech. MICHAEL: I, Michael, by man's side have knelt, And in its service, many blows my sword has dealt Against natural foe, and fear, and woe. From my banner, is the mercy of the Universe felt! I represent that might, Through which mankind has seen the light, And thus overcome great plight, And thus prevented the eternal night. I am that force of war, Within the righteous, evermore. My cup is full, and pours, Over Holy men whose hearts are pure. NARRATOR: Then stood Uriel, who steals away, All things, which it destroys - all things in time and space, Great Shiva it is, and so it turned its face. URIEL: So I flap my wings, And ignite surrounding things, Deconstructing matter with my limbs. So I close the day, I am the cause of death and decay, Soon I'll end time and space. EDRIS: Do I now believe my eyes? As Raphael begins to rise, Caduceus at its side, Trumpets herald now its stride. It does represent the seal, Which gives to wounds the power to heal, And to the mind it does reveal, And ever turns evolution's wheel. RAPHAEL: I am the one whose horn shall hark, The ushering in of the endless dark, Judgement will succeed my name, And man will wrap all lands in flame. Before that day, many will choose, The path of truth; the path of virtue, They shall see that place, Divine, And live their lives in paradise. NARRATOR: Now these forces stood around, With one left kneeling on the ground, Its head arose, it made no sound. Gabriel was, lo, its name. The mysteries, it did explain, With mindless thoughts to human brains. GABRIEL: I, most high, Partition The Light, From infinite, To finite size. All things, which die. Are one again: Unified. NARRATOR: And through these awe-inspiring lessons, Did come another message. Was it sent from Heaven? The young man did convulse. As his body shook, From it, a being thrust, And hovered above. LUCIFER: To come forth, I am last, Into human minds alone, So that wisdom may be grasped. My seat is by the Holy Throne. The serpent in Eden, am I, Which beckons man - "consume the fruit, From this tree, which here grows high, From its roots within מַלְכוּת."

יהוה: [0] "No-thing" is that which exists, And at the start, is that which is. But from "thing-ness" it is disjoint, And thus contracts to a single point. Now boundaries surround the nought, Of the אין סוף's mysterious thought. Thus, beyond the boundaries of, [A1] "No-thing" is "all things" in potential form. Here is now cast the First Crown - The First, by chaotic waters undrowned. אֶהְיֶה, I am! in all things found, And so I craft the twenty-two sounds. EDRIS: Teach me now of what succeeds, The thing-ness which from nought was freed, I have my thoughts - my body bleeds, So plant in me the cosmic seed. What are called the named infinities, Which wholly represent your qualities? What are called "of אטזילות?" Speak to me eternal truths. יהוה: [A2] The Wisdom is יהוה, the Essence of Being, [A3] The Understanding is הוה אלים, God of Gods, [A4] The Mercy is אל, God the Creator, [A5] The Severity is אלים גיבור, God the Potent. [A6] The Beauty is אלוה ואדאת, God the Strong, [A7] The Victory is יהוה צבאוט, God of Hosts, [A8] The Glory is אלוהים צבאוט, Lord God of Hosts, [A9] The Foundation is שדאי אל צ'אי, Omnipotent. EDRIS: Teach me now of what succeeds, The abstract world - the worlds beneath, Which are contained thereafter Nine, [A10]Within the whole of אדוני. What are called the named infinities, Which wholly represent the qualities, Of formation? Speak it clear: What is held within בריה? יהוה: [B1] METATRON, Angel of Presence, Crown, [B2] RAZIEL, Herald of Deity, Wisdom, [B3] TSAPHKIEL, Contemplation, Understanding, [B4] TSADKIEL, Justice, Mercy, [B5] SAMAEL, Severity of God, [B6] MICHAEL, like unto God, Beauty, [B7] HANIEL, Grace of God, Victory, [B8] RAPHAEL, Divine Physician, Glory, [B9] GABRIEL, Man-God, Foundation. NARRATOR: Whence there clapped great thunder in the sky, The night made bright by repeated lightning strikes, As the young man's visions did start to close, He saw that he'd been taken by the water's flow. EDRIS: Tell me now - where have I been? By such deep truth, my mind is freed, But I know not where my eyes see, By this shore, now far downstream. I am cold - my body shivers, Alone with no food, my strength does wither, My arms do shake, my legs they quiver, As I climb now from the river. יהוה: With you I am not done yet! These sacred words you shan't forget, For such an act would, lo, beget, This torrent of sorrow, which I would let. Know: I am a jealous God, There is one truth; there is one law. These things in union are יסוד, And, oh, it's bounds you shan't ignore.
6.
יהוה: Now your journey is complete: With full heart all time you'll greet, Adverse thoughts you may defeat, And thus ascend to Holy seat. You see My nature - all, Which now captures and enthralls: My world, with boundary walls, From which Lucifer did fall. EDRIS: The old truths now lie shattered, As I see that which links matter - This lesser world of atoms, Arranged in fractal patterns - With that world which did arise, From chaos waters, far and wide, Which was symbolized as sky, By many sages, deeply wise. SOPHIA: See all starless nights, Be overcome by truth alone. Usher in the endless light, Set eyes upon the throne. NARRATOR: The young man took to the path beside, Which the river did lie, Making hasty strides. Urgency with him in force, Great hunger he could not ignore, Onwards he strode with suppressed thoughts. EDRIS: Now great oaks, they pass me by, Which shield from me the brightening sky, As dawn vanquishes the night, Still, here, I am without the light. On this way, I walk for hours, Through trees, which over me do tower, And, though no light, I smell the flowers, With their sweetest fragrance, I'm overpowered. NARRATOR: Then the young man fell unto the earth, As his body did ache and his mind, it hurt, So he collapsed in a heap on the dawn's new dew, Sprawled there, out of conscious, for the whole morn' through. Some time afterwards the sun was overhead, And upon this man's trail did another man tread, Who came upon the collapsed man, and saw he was unfed, So he carried him unto his home and laid him on his bed. The eve thereupon, the young man did awaken, Alone, in another's home, he did become unshaken, Going to the window, he had seen this town's great lake, And thereupon the man did realise the place that he'd been taken. Running now, he left the house, looking all around, And saw this place - that wretched site in which he'd only found, Great magnitudes of sin - surely love did not abound, In this once-wicked place, which he had called his home town. EDRIS: What are here these deeds which I witness with my eyes? Were it told to me alone, I'd deem it to be lies. The people of this place, now engaged in being kind, Yet their acts alone are still-unchanged; the change is in my mind. In this moment I feel sorrow; guilt is mine to own, There is good within all folk, yet to me it was unknown, But see how I have been enlightened; holding now the flame, Which illuminates the truth - now this land is not the same! NARRATOR: And so the young man settled in the town from which he'd journed, His perspective had been shattered by the truths which he had learned, And no longer for some other thing did his heart yearn, So he rested, happy with his life. The wheels of time did turn, The young man soon became not young as he lived out his years. Being unbound by prejudice, heartlessness and fear, The woes and throes of life did promptly disappear, And tranquility filled his mind as the end drew near. SOPHIA: In all things is a map of the all, That great oneness to which pious men call. Know this truth, be captured in its thrall. יהוה יהוה יהוה יהוה NARRATOR: The old man harkens to his bedside, He hears commotion outside, And peers upwards to the night. His eyes are met with blinding light. On the streets below, the people gather, The drunk men come out from the tavern, Mothers at home doors, shaking and weeping, Babes in wonder, at windows peeking. The old man stares upon the sight, Which to the people now gives fright, Its eyes are many; its swan wings white, מֶטָטְרוֹן is here with might. Raphael beside it glides, With golden trumpet at its side. It lifts it up unto far reaches, And bellows forth horrendous screeches. As the second great divine power, Mankind feels itself at this hour. Though the old man had lived in paradise, Wicked had been the deeds of mankind. And so, though one may be saved, By basking in the light of God's Names, Most will happily cause pain, They feel lust, anger and shame. And so man-מֶטָטְרוֹן is the axe, Which cleaves its own head for its acts. And in the sky, its eyes shew ire, And from its mouth pours Holy fire. יהוה: Fire pours and covers all, It wraps itself over cities tall, Babes are charred, in their mothers' arms, screaming, Men lie on the Earth, blistered, writhing and bleeding, The stone which once did stand up to the sky, Now breaks to the ground, forever to lie. The enlightened, too, burn and dissipate, For their goodness of heart may not overcome fate. NARRATOR: And so does humanity close. Though one's ways may be glorious, Truth in all minds stays unknown.

•"The Magical Key to Understanding the Album 'Apotheosis'"

•"Third Book of Enoch"

The Apotheosis concept album is a hugely-modified musical retelling of the Books of Enoch, apocryphal magical texts from antiquity.

The plot follows Edris, who leaves his home town due to his perception of its absolute wickedness, in order to find a city of divinely-acting inhabitants. Coming to rest that night on a mountain in the wilderness, he awakens to find his bag of possessions missing.

Soon afterwards, he finds clean water in the form of a river and wild mushrooms on which he can feast, but begins having
visions soon after eating, and falls into the fast-running river. He is then visited by singing choirs of angels, who hark the arrival of Metatron, the highest archangel, and archetype of man. Edris observes as this being creates the first civilisation, whereupon the forge is invented and thus begin the ages of metalworking.

Seeing mankind existent now, Edris is visited by four archangels – Michael, Uriel, Raphael and Gabriel – who teach him their natures and thus those things which are highest pillars of structural integrity presentacross existence. As they prepare to leave, a fifth, most-high archangel – Lucifer – bursts from within Edris, declaring itself to be the last to come into being.

Then appears the sum potency of all existence; the nature of existence itself teaches Edris its highest truths, these being the qualities through which it may be fully perceived. The visions begin to fade, and Edris sees himself dragged downriver. Now weak with hunger, he climbs from the water and begins to walk to find civilisation, but collapses into unconsciousness. He is found by a passer-by, who carries the unconscious man to his home.

Awakening in unfamiliar surroundings, Edris soon realises he has been taken back to the town from which he so hastily departed. However, with his new-found enlightenment, he is able to perceive the goodness within its townfolk, despite their actions being unchanged. Thus, he recognises this land as the paradise he was searching for, and lives here until he reaches old age. In spite of Edris’ enlightenment, however, Metatron returns and destroys humanity. Thus concludes the narrative of the album.
